Here's a completely beautiful "dance of love" Tango.
The man is Julian Elizari, who teaches at the Dome. The woman I only know as Audrey, she's a regular on the London social scene. She has a stupendous grace and elegance of movement, but the thing I'm really studying in this video is her beautiful, gentle, soft, fluid, connected, lively embrace. I want to be able to do it like that one day.

ReplyDeleteAfter watching this I stayed up thinking about how emotional it made me. The beauty of it, the timelessness and age-less ness of both dancers. I have so many thoughts about it that I may have to write a blog entry about it myself. So much more than dancing there.

ReplyDeleteShame couldn't see more of the actual dance. Though it's not the type of embrace I usually like, they do have a beautiful, relaxed, live-in-the-moment connection.

ReplyDeleteVery nice. But, I always wonder why no one ever uses Golden Age tango music to film video shorts like this. I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteIrrelevant but good tip: If you haven't been to the scene where this vid was shot recently (the Brunswick in Bloomsbury, next to the Tube station), it's well worth wandering around. It's been cleaned up, there are new shops and restaurants and, every saturday morning, a food market.
