I always recommend checking the event organiser's website to make sure that an event is taking place and that my calendar is a guideline only. We all make mistakes on occasion or things change at the last minute. It is useful to have the information pretty much all in one place and a lot of people from out of London have told me they found it useful.
I applaud you H for putting this together and will see if I can use it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8391293127288856260.post-84162104967107203302009-04-16T19:58:00.000+01:002009-04-16T19:58:00.000+01:00PS - that doesn't mean compiled calendars aren't u...PS - that doesn't mean compiled calendars aren't useful at all - they're pretty much all there is at the moment. LT's is, in fact, useful - so is Jill's at tangoenelcielo. I would just always always check the organiser's own website. If they don't have a website, I'd want something else.msHedgehoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05719152265628932122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8391293127288856260.post-59381524189626072332009-04-16T19:52:00.000+01:002009-04-16T19:52:00.000+01:00Writing this took a good deal less time than revie...Writing this took a good deal less time than reviews generally do - a much easier project.

It's true that most don't have subscribable calendars; probably because they don't realise it's possible or don't know how to do it. This is an exercise in putting Clue out there to be picked up by those who want it.

I would never trust a compiled calendar over a syndicated calendar, no matter how much I trusted the compiler - myself, LT, Jill, DB, anybody. Subscription is just better than manual compilation, because of how it works.

It's only the last step that doesn't work in Wordpress, because of the iframe. Any other means of displaying or linking to one or more XML feeds would work, since each calendar is nothing more than a feed, but I don't know what XML feed widgets Wordpress has to display them prettily. It looks like it lets you do the comments feed, and calendar feeds are basically exactly the same thing. Maybe there's material for another post there.msHedgehoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05719152265628932122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8391293127288856260.post-54083482379175308862009-04-16T16:51:00.000+01:002009-04-16T16:51:00.000+01:00Nice one, well done.Nice one, well done.David Baileyhttp://www.jivetango.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8391293127288856260.post-24296398549195664262009-04-16T08:49:00.000+01:002009-04-16T08:49:00.000+01:00You obviously had some free time H! Not all organisers or teachers have a calendar on their site and as I am fairly impartial, I would hope that people are happy to use mine. At least they know where to go to find out what Milongas are on. Not everyone subsribes to Tango UK.
If you have found any problems with my calendars, let me know. xAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8391293127288856260.post-60100017548798417612009-04-16T00:29:00.000+01:002009-04-16T00:29:00.000+01:00*applause*
